Pérez veio do Porto e desembarcou em Belo Horizonte em 12 de fevereiro; o anúncio foi feito apenas em 19 de fevereiro por questões burocráticas. O jogador frequentou a Cidade do Galo para aprimoramento físico, mas ainda não há previsão de estreia com a camisa atleticana. Formado no Newell’s Old Boys, Pérez participou da seleção argentina que ficou em vice-campo mundial sub-20 em 2025. A lista de reforços do Atlético-MG já conta com Renan Lodi, Angelo Preciado, Alan Minda, Maycon, Vitor Hugo e Mateo Cassierra, além de Pérez.
